Hey Friends!

I'm Smita Patkar from India. I'm a watercolour artist. 
I have a special connection with nature which reflects in my paintings. I usually paint landscapes and flowers in watercolours.
I love the fluidity and transparancy of watercolours. I find it calming and relaxing like a meditation.

 Education and Career

M.Sc.(Organic Chemistry)
Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Laws
Did research on Antisense Nucleotides in NCL for 3 years (2002-2005)
Worked as Senior Patent Analyst in Sci-Edge Abstracts for 7 years (2005-2011)
Partner at Alphonso Global Solutions LLP, India (Software product development company)

About Artistic Passion (Hobby Artist)
Done basic and advance courses in watercolors conducted by renowned artist Milind Mulick in 2013.
Started learning watercolor landscapes from my Guru, Shri. Vilas Kulkarni Sir since 2014 and continued till date.


Art Achievements:

My painting ‘Peace is bliss’ was selected for Special Merit Category in Landscape competition, June 2014 by Light, Space and Time online gallery.

Another painting ‘Water lilies Upside Down’ was selected for Special Merit Category in Botanicals competition, July 2014 by Light, Space and Time online gallery.

My article about painting process was published in an online news letter by painter's online gallery, UK (xxxx://www.painters-online.co.uk/Information/gallery-newsletter-aug-2014#Smita)

I was selected as one of the Featured artist of the month in August'2014 for Painter's Online, UK.

Participated in a group show of ‘Gurukul’ students to be held at Balgandharv Kaladalan in August 2014 and August 2016.

Participated in 'Passion for Art' competition organized by Venus Traders and got Special Merit Award in hobby artist

category.

I recieved third prize at a State Level landscape painting Competition he
