Howard Eberle is a self- taught American watercolorist who uses drybrush to create the realism found in his highly detailed paintings. He considers himself a portrait painter of objects and is often drawn to simple, weathered subjects ravaged by time. He finds the peeled paint of wood, rust, and stone are all elements that challenge him to create texture with his brush.
Eberle is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Watercolor Honor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. His paintings have won him numerous awards in International competitions and two reside in the permanent collection of the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
