Born and raised in the south-eastern shore of the St-Lawrence river in Quebec. After a career in the Canadian Navy, I returned home to pursue another career as a maple syrup producer.
Although an art lover from childhood, I was seduced by watercolor following demos from the founders and masters of SCA (Société Canadienne de l'Aquarelle) back in the 1980s.
With the help of books and videos, I used the medium as a hobby until retirement. As a self-taught artist, art became my passion and my spirit. I continuously experiment each day to push myself to my creative limits.
The landscape is my main source of inspiration. I paint in an impressionistic style with expressive brush strokes and spontaneity.
I’m fascinated by the effect of light and atmosphere on landscapes images sourced from plein air studies, photos, memory and imagination.
My saying is that an artist needs more than one life to express his/her inner strength.
