Nationally and internationally award-winning artist, Tuva Page Stephens was born in 1953 in the clay mining center of the nation, Gleason, Tennessee. She is best known for her character portraits and figurative paintings in watercolor. Her paintings capture the essence of her subjects. During high school her mother sacrificed to pay for Art Instruction Schools, Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation from the University of Tennessee/Martin, she taught secondary Art, English, and Drama for 32 years. She honed her artistic skills from the most well-known artists in the US for many years.

Tuva has Signature Membership with several prestigious watercolor societies such as National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, Southern Watercolor and also societies in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri. She is also an Associate member with American Watercolor Society. Recently she won the Irving Shapiro Founder Award in the 2020 Exhibition in Kenosha, WI, Best of Show, 2018 Kentucky Watercolor and 1st Place in 2019. Her paintings have won over 3 dozen national awards.  She was honored to represent TnWS (Tennessee Watercolor Society) in the National Watercolor Society 50 Stars 2020 Exhibition. Tuva’s work can be seen in the Permanent Collection of Boone County Historical Society Museum, Columbia, Missouri and Jemison-Carnegie Heritage Hall Museum, Talladega, Alabama. Her work has been published the following two books: Splash 15 and Art Journey: Animals. Her awards include: National Watercolor Society, Alice Leonard Cash and Merchandise Award and awards in Kentucky Gold Award 18, and the Silver Award 19, Alabama, and Southern Watercolor. She has judged selection of Awards for the Southern Appalachian Art Guild Exhibition.
