Mara Fribus is a self-taught artist living and working in Moscow, Russia. In love with architecture and especially all the details, she strives to stop the viewer's gaze on something calm and eternal, to become an island of silence in a raging world.
In her works, she aims to capture the glowing corporeality and weightiness of immortal creations of old masters who passed away years and centuries ago. Sometimes we even do not know their names, but we can adore the fruits of their mastery and thus make them live through time. Bright light and dark shadows emphasize the materiality of life triumphing over death.
