I have been passionate about watercolor recently, for about 2 years. I come from a technical background, as I am an architect, and my job is even more technical as I deal with very engineering aspects. I discovered that watercolor helps me to "break" the rules, the boundaries, in practice it helps me to free myself from the constraints of technical drawing. In this I have found a form of self-therapy. In the summer of 2021, in my hometown, Taranto, I was simply looking for some "marine" to watercolor. When I found myself looking at the watercolors I had done, however, I discovered that there was something more. I found an image of Taranto different from the one which belongs to the collective imagination, made up of heavy industry and health and work problems. The twilight light, which is the one chosen for these seascapes, gave the watercolors a sense of calm and peace, of serenity. I wonder if these watercolors can contribute to make another Taranto known.
