Francesca Pracilio

Nickname: Fra
Country: Italy - Role: Artist

I am a Vastese D.O.C., although I was born "accidentally" in Lanciano in 1974.

My life has been variously and profoundly marked by the element of Water: competitive swimmer since childhood; environmental engineer with a thesis on water purification when young; passionate watercolorist in my topicality of mom and teacher.

With an innate familiarity and ease in drawing, always kept “in the drawer”, a forty years I fell in love with this painting technique which, more than others, with drawing often struggles, and rebels against drawing to follow its own paths.

Including the expressive potential of watercolor, I deepened the study of styles of some masters, without ever renouncing to pursue a personal research and an experimentation of techniques and materials capable of giving body and color to certain ones my feelings and emotions.

In a few years I have had the satisfaction of seeing some of my works appreciated, selected and published in the catalogs of various national and foreign competitions: for me important opportunities for growth, through the exchange of knowledge and experiences with excellent artists and masters from all over the world.

I continue to find a resource in defining myself as an amateur, in the literal sense, but also more cheerful and light-hearted than the term, hoping to continue to take pleasure, with lightness and freedom, from this wonderful activity that I carry out in the study of my home, from which I can see the sun rise over the beautiful sea of Vasto, and set behind the imposing Majella massif.
