As far as I can remember, I have always loved to draw and paint. When I was a teenager, my uncle taught me to draw still lifes with a pen. My first watercolors date back to this period.
In my twenties, I first started learning oil painting. Then I did a few tests with watercolor. His impulsive side and his speed of execution immediately appealed to me. The mastery of water, the power and transparency of pigments are fascinating challenges for me.
Family life forced me, for twenty years, to put my art on hiatus. Retired since January 2017, I now devote more time to my art. I work a lot from the photos taken during my various trips. The shots are always taken with a future painting in mind. City scenes, people's daily lives, different cultures and landscapes are inevitably found in my works. My travels continue through my brushes.
Eliminating superfluous details in order to highlight the essence of the scene, this is the guide of my inspiration. Making people travel through my works, recalling good memories, beautiful emotions and making others dream, this is the essence of my artistic approach.
