I am a Belgian artist, living in Ghent, Belgium.

I have been drawing and painting since I was a child, with a preference for portraits and figures.I started with pencils, charcoal and pastel. First visited art school in Belgium. Around 2009 I fell in love with watercolour. It has since become my main medium and a passion. It is a never ending discover. 

I have always been fascinated by people, cultures, dance and music and this is reflected in my choice of subject. I can only paint a subject to which I feel a special connection. Every person has such an interesting life story made up of joys and sorrows that I want to transmit this to the viewer. The connection of the person to his environment, with other human beings or animals is so interesting. I also paint still life, cuban oldtimers, animals, flowers and insectes. 

I love the play of light and dark, tones & values to make this to an own composition. Is very exciting to create an atmosphere and to transmit certain feelings. 

Some parts in my work are detailed, others are not. Sometimes i use vibrant colors, sometimes limited or even sepia. I always start wet on wet and finish by adding details in the dry. I paint on 300 gsm cold pressed paper or heavier. I work from life model or photo, free works & commissions and give occasionally workshops. 

Another important thing is that the last years watercolorartists are more and more unified over this whole planet by doing things together, exchanges, and now also virtual exhibitions. Is a way to make new friends and to share our pasion and experiences. We become one big family. 

Since several years i participate in Fabriano and a lot of national and international exhibitions as well collective, solo or in duo.
