Olga Yakovenko was born in Ukraine and comes from Ternopil. She has been interested in the art of painting since childhood. Even though she graduated from the music school, she opted for the painting that she preferred to everything. Her mother, who is herself an artist, inspired her very much. So she made her first graphic already at the age of 5 years. The teachers quickly recognized their artistic side and promoted this. So she made her first poster for the school in the first class.

She earned a living after finishing school and often traveled to Poland to present and sell her art.

In Poland she met the painter Stanislaw Przewlocki know. With his help and recommendation, she was able to attend the state art school in Wroclaw. There she studied from 1995 to 1998.

The local professors and teachers encouraged her to study at the Academy of Arts in Wroclaw.

Thus, she studied at the Academy of Arts in Wroclaw (Wroclaw) from 2000 to 2003, where she graduated as a graphic designer.

She financed the studies with portrait and commissioned painting.

At the Academy she studied with the well-known graphic artist Professor Andrzej Basei. The painter Professor Grzegoz Zyndwalewicz taught her how to use oil paints.

In addition to training at the academy, the painter Stanislaw Przewlocki looked over her shoulder and showed her techniques in watercolor and oil painting.

Since 2004 she lives and works as a freelance artist in Görlitz. There she works in the fields of painting and photography. In 2007 she opened her studio in Löbauer Straße 9 in Görlitz and offers painting classes in the adult education center in Görlitz and later also in her studio. In 2010 she opened her first own gallery in Görlitz. Currently she mainly shows her works in her new gallery in the old town of Görlitz.
