Hi,

I am Koen Spaas and I live in Borgloon, Belgium and I was born in 1969.

During secondary school, I followed evening class Art lessons, but I started only with watercolor in 2014 with lessons from Paula Geysens in the Hagelandse Aquarelkring in Wommersom (near Tienen), since then I became a member of AIB, IWS Belgium and joined several exhibitions. The most excited ones were the Aquarelsalon of AIB in 2017 & 2019, Fabriano in Acquarello in 2018 (Digital) and 2019, the IWS exhibition in Praag in 2018 and an Exhibition in the UrsulaKapel with the TKK in Tongeren in Summer 2020 (in between 2 Corona waves).

I also joined workshops with a lot of great artist, of which Gerard Hendriks and Hannie Riewerts from Holland, Atanur Dogan of Turkey, Eric Laurent of France and Cao Bei An, Theo Verhulst, Monique Tevenie & Gerda Mentens from Belgium.

Initially my favorite Subject was (and still is) Animals and Pets, but meanwhile I also enjoy painting cars (old-timers or Military vehicles) and human portraits.
