Following a career in Nursing, studying Biotechnology at The University of Abertay and three years as an Assistant Warden at Loch Morlich Youth Hostel, Liz went on to study Fine Art and Fine Art Development, as a mature student, at Dundee College, when her son began school in 2002.

Liz enjoys the challenge of painting with watercolour from her studio at home and outdoors when weather permits, exploring the versatility of water with colour and manipulating paint to create exciting surfaces. Liz is also keen to pass on tips and dicovered techniques through teaching, at weekly Watercolour all Ways classes.

" Inspired by travel in Japan, using symbolism, I explore subject through connection and space in between.

Paintings sometimes include the addition of Japanese paper on the painting surface "

Liz was awarded the ' Escoda Gold Brush Award ' in (Spring 22) and ' Merit Award ' in (Spring 23) Malaysia International Online Juried Art Competition, Still Life & Floral Category with recent work hung in National and International Exhibitions including 

The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) , The Society of Womens Artists (SWA), The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour (RI) Fabriano in Aquarello, MiniWatercolour Kyiv and 'Freedom' Ukraine. 

Established by Liz in 2013 ' Liz Dulley Studio ' has been awarded ' Independent Artist of the Year ' at Scotland Prestige Awards 2023/24.

' Connection ' or ' Keep Safe ' 38x56cm This painting evolved as a consequence of Lockdown. Inspired by travel from Scotland to Japan I explore a variety of techniques to draw Japan and Scotland together. I use stationary objects from each country.
