My name is Angela, and I am based in Claregalway, Ireland.

AngieGoodlifeArt is a word play with my last name, Boavida, which is Portuguese for "good life”.

I was born and raised in Portugal and when I was younger I started an Art High Degree, in my hometown, Porto, but life happened and I couldn’t finish my education. Fast forward many, many years, and I find myself moving to Ireland with my family. Cue a pandemic and forced confinement for months. This is when I get back to painting with watercolours. 

My favourite subjects are plants, flowers and birds, and I am fascinated with how it is possible to convey volume by layering transparent pigments. My paintings are close to realistic but always with brilliant hues.

I share my time between Art and Special Education, as a Special Needs Assistant.

At the moment I am involved in a project to establish regular children’s art sessions focused on wellbeing through a set of workshops.
