Born in Ipswich, England, Judith grew up happily with her family in Newport, Shropshire. She went on to qualify as an Occupational Therapist in Liverpool and met her Italian husband. In 1975 they settled in the medieval town of Fermo in the Marche, Italy where they have since lived, both working in the local hospital and bringing up their family of 2 children.
She is a self-taught artist and always having been a lover of nature, by chance or by destiny she discovered her passion for watercolour painting. Watercolour is the medium per eccellenza for Judith, allowing her to capture and interpret the beauty of the surrounding landscapes,the muting colours and atmospheres and express the poetry and the emotion they evoke.
Since 2014, encouraged by growing recognition she began to exhibit her art in national and international exhibitions, whilst constantly continuing to develop her style following international masters in their workshops such as Iya Ibryaev, Thomas Schaller,Fernand Thienpondt and inspired by other artists such as Dario Percy Ccallo, Ann Blockley, Angelo Gorlini.
In recent years Judith has travelled to many international watercolour meetings and exhibitions where both participation and friendship have provided unique experiences and have contributed to her neverending exploration into expressive watercolour.
She is a member of IWS and InArte Fabriano and is a founder of FermoInAcquarello.
