My Studio is a living and working environment populated with objects and bric-a-brac collected over many years. These objects variously inhabit my still life compositions, which I compose like stage sets. They dress the stage and support the developing narrative, which often reflects everyday situations and happenings in my life. The narrative is informed by 'conversations' between the protagonists on the canvas.  The viewer however has licence to place their own interpretation on the scene, as these stories will inevitably resonate with shared experiences of heartache, pain, parenthood, loss, love and joy. The spectacular view from the studio, looking across the River Tay Estuary, and the vista of the city of Dundee, inevitably influence the construct and background to these conversational settings.
