Chris began her career as a designer for American Greeting Cards upon receiving a BFA from Miami University. After additional graduate work, an MA in education, and teaching in various venues, Chris realized her greatest joy was teaching in the public school setting where she remained for 30 years.

A signature member of: NWS, AWS, TWSA,(masterstatus) WW,(Master Status) PWS-sgg, KWS, MOWS and OWS. Chris has been painting and entering competitions since 2012. Her work has earned many awards, including: Bronze Award 2023, KWS; Gold Award 2022, OWS; Gold Medal 2021, KWS; 2nd Place Award 2021, PWS; Beverly Willing Memorial Cash Award 2020, NWS; The Zoltan Szabo Founder's Award 2019, TWSA; Gold Award 2019, OWS; Alden Bryan Memorial Medal 2017, AWS; 3rd Place and Medal 2017, PWS; Edgar A. Whitney Memorial Award 2016, TWSA. Her paintings are published in Splash: The Best of Watercolor, North Light Books Series, 14-22. Chris won Honorable Mention in the Watercolor Showcase featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine ( Spring2021 and April 2017.) Recently, She was featured in Watercolor Artist magazine; Winter2024, "The Story in Snow." In addition to her competitions, her many commissions are displayed in businesses and homes throughout the USA.
