I only started taking formal drawing & painting classes when a class started at a local bookstore near my place of work in 2009. It had been a long-time dream to take formal classes after my high school art classes and to this day it has become a means of de-stressing from working in the life insurance industry.
I still attend some classes with the same teacher which have transitioned to online zoom classes due to the preventive lockdown measures of the 2020 covid-19 pandemic. My painting classmates have become my close friends and we have done sketching, painting and of course eating good meals on trips around the metro and abroad.
My paintings are mostly in watercolor but have done works in pen, graphite, pastels and acrylic. They have been exhibited locally and abroad.
It is always a greatful surprise when a work gets attention and thankful to friends and family who appreciate the effort.
Having a theme or purpose helps tremendously in my creative processes.
After all these years, I am still a student of the art of watercolor painting and there are many more techniques being shared and new materials coming out that makes it so interesting and challenging.
