About me
I have been involved in the arts and crafting since I was a teenager. This relationship to creativity has been my deepest love and accompanied me through all the human sufferings and joys of life while offering therapy, comfort and firmness in my soul development. Playing in water colours has become my most beloved practice in the last 20 years, where I have often taught as I learnt. Sharing the joy of light, transparency, colour, flow and playfulness with no judgement which has resulted in the self-confidence of my participants, young and older, has been my motivation all along. In the last 4 years, I have particularly focussed on painting the magnificent birds of the Sunshine coast, which have been produced as gift cards. My submission for the Fabriano Exhibition expresses my long-time connection to the mystery of the clown, the archetype of tragedy and sadness that can be transformed into vulnerability, humour and ultimately compassion in the viewer. The initial step we take as the Fool (Tarot), with any new endeavour, open, authentic and full of wonder like a child, is for me, the most beautiful of all human phases.
