A visual love of watercolour turned my fascination of this incredible medium into a personal passion.
In my artwork I aim to capture life’s nuances using the fluid and delicate nature of watercolour that can mirror the fluidity of human emotion. In each portrait I create I seek to weave an emotional narrative that connects the viewer to the subject and invites them to explore the essence of what makes us human through colour, form, light and line. Professionally I am a clinical psychologist and am exposed to human emotion in its raw form I believe this has helped me to capture on paper the emotions expressed through observation.
My art has been selected for exhibition internationally and also within Australia and I am proud to have been able to represent Australia. I enjoy experimentation with colour and techniques, and particulary enjoy the fluid and unbounding nature of the pigment mixed with water which has an appeal that cannot be matched by other mediums. Over the years I have had the good fortune to watch and participate in workshops with inspiring Australian and International artists. I thank David Taylor for being the first true artist of high calibre whom I had the pleasure on three occassions to join his class during visits to Queensland.
