About me

My name is Helena Kenda. I was born in 1954 in Čezsoča, a small vilage near Bovec.

I loved drawing already as a child. In high school I illustrated the school newspaper, and I wanted to continue my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, but unfortunately fate changed my life path. I got married and devoted myself mainly to my family and career in finance.

The desire to create art never left me. When I retired in 2012 I started drawing and painting, first in oil technique, later in acrylic and in recent years I have fallen in love with the art of watercolor. I participated in various painting workshops, courses and many ex tempores,

So far, I have had 5 solo exhibitions, the last of which was dedicated to just watercolors, 21 paintings (70 x 50 cm) were displayed in Church of St.Maria in Bovec.

I am a member of the art group Kul tu ra Renče and the group of amateur painters of Bovec. Within both groups, we have group exhibitions several times a year, where I always participate. In 2023 I received the 2nd prize for participation in the ex tempore Kromberk, for a painting made in watercolor technique on canvas. In 2023 and 2024, I also qualified for the international Castro festival in AjdovšÄina.
