I started drawing and painting in 2018. First I used mainly graphite pencil, but by experimenting I got fascinated by watercolour, because the technical aspects of the medium go hand in hand with coincidence and spontaneity. Currently, I mainly work in watercolour and in charcoal.
I study with Tom Shepherd, and regularly follow workshops with other artists such as Michael Solovyev. I completed the full series of composition focussed courses with Ian Roberts. I am a member of the Dutch branch of the International Watercolour Society (IWS Holland).
So far, I exhibited my work in a two artist exhibition at Cultuurhuis De Nobelaer (NL), in a group exhibition in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the town of Etten-Leur (NL), and in two editions of the epi Artists Exhibition, a group exhibition of art made by European patent attorneys. In December 2023, one of my paintings was featured on the cover of epi Information (over 12000 copies).
I love painting people, animals and landscapes. I often find my inspiration close to home, for example on my bicycle rides in the Dutch countryside. I enjoy contacts with other artists, in person as well as online.
