About me
Maria Carmen Garcia Calvo is an artist painter and art restorer with many years of experience working in Spain, her home country, and in Italy, where she has resided for more than 20 years.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with specialization in Restoration of Cultural Heritage, obtained in Valencia, and has worked in the restoration of paintings on canvas and panel at the beginning of her career, which took place in important art centers such as the Museum of Fine Arts of San Pio V in Valencia, and the Diputacion provincial de Castellon. After her first years working in the restoration sector, she moved to Italy where, thanks in part to the rich artistic/historical/cultural context, she broadened her field of action by directing herself towards artistic production, specializing in painting, particularly in the watercolor technique. In this deeply creative period she also starts a family and grows two splendid half-italian sons. Art becomes for Maria a way to approach, explore and experience the territory, nature and the relationships between man and the world around him, and the transformation (or not) of the landscape.
Her pictorial research continues to this day in a stylistic progression that relies on the continuous exchange with people, both through the exhibition of her works and the teaching of art as a shared experience of growth.
