My artist name is DYANI
For many years, I have dedicated myself to capturing life in the moment. Painting street scenes allows me to observe everyday life with great attention, searching for those moments where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
For this competition, I chose an unusual scene that particularly caught my attention for its originality and atmosphere: a woman pushing a stroller with two small dogs, walking along the famous Promenade des Anglais. This moment, filled with lightness, immediately drew me in. I wanted to capture the softness of the Mediterranean light, the subtle shadows dancing on the ground, and the tranquil elegance of this iconic place.
During the year of the Covid pandemic, I created a series of 250 watercolors in this same style, aiming to capture the spontaneity of unusual scenes, sometimes marked by the strangeness of the situation but always full of poetry. Each watercolor is an invitation to rediscover moments of everyday life and to seize the fleeting beauty in its simplest form.
My approach to watercolor emphasizes immediacy and intuitive expression. Each brushstroke reflects my desire to capture these fleeting moments, where light and movement intertwine to tell a story. This scene, with its charm and unusual character, invites viewers to see the world from a different angle.
With this work, I aim to share my perspective on a singular moment and offer a moment of escape and contemplation.
