I am a doctor by profession and a watercolourist by passion. I ventured into watercolour during the COVID -19 pandemic as a means to unwind after long and stressful duty hours. It was a catharsis of sorts. With the lockdown enforced strictly, the only access I had to art material was an old students watercolour set discarded by my daughter and some sheets of handmade paper left over from her school.project. I taught myself the basics of watercolour and have not looked back since! I learn something new from every painting I do.
Watercolour to me is pure magic! Watching the pigments explode on wet paper and seeing them create fluid poetry on an otherwise blank sheet is an absolute treat.
With retirement just around the corner, and the children having flown the nest, I look forward to spending more time at my easle, enjoying my watercolour journey and taking my skills to the next level.
Till date I have exhibited my work in the following shows
The Travel Exhibition titled Harmony Through Watercolour under the aegis of the International Watercolour Society India and the Sareh Art Gallery Moscow in Moscow and New Delhi in Sep 2023K
Kalaparichay - a group exhibition at the Bal Gandharva Kaladalan Pune, India in Nov 2023T
