About me
Deena S. Ball is a Maine-based artist whose watercolor paintings capture the interplay of light across landscapes. Her paintings evoke emotional responses and foster a deeper appreciation for our land, nature, and our relationship with the earth.
Deena earned her BA in Art History and Studio Art from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She furthered her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and Tyler School of Art, and participated in numerous workshops, including studies under the late Domenic DiStephano. Deena has had two solo shows at the Richard Boyd Art Gallery in Portland, Maine, Maine Moods 2024 and Natural Forces 2025.
As a teaching artist for both adults and children, Deena shares her passion for creativity and nature. She is frequently invited to lead workshops and presentations for artists' groups, non-profit organizations, and public schools through online presentations and in-person classes. Deena will be leading her second plein air retreat to Hotel Leone in Monteparlo, Italy in 2027. Applications are now being taken for this retreat.
