Sheila Anderson-Hardy RSW resides in the Scottish Borders. Her creative arena is the exquisite natural beaty of her wild garden and the unspoiled countryside around her home.
Statement:
My preoccupation is with the importance and fragility of complex ecosystems which guard our future.
I focus on the complexity, variety and beauty contained in the untouched often ignored habitats of wood, field margin and verge. My interest invariably falls on the small elements which make up the bigger picture
Meshing the shapes, shadows and patterns of complex plant forms integrating narratives of encounters with wildlife in detailed paintings.
I work on paper using sumi-e ink and watercolour integrating collage and mixed media.
What drives me forward is the need to express whatI feel is beautiful and understand to be important.
