About me
anna galea (www.annagalea.com) is an established, award-winning artist based in Malta, Rome and Dubai, best known for her abnormally large still life paintings and abstractions.
A Master’s Graduate in Creativity and Innovation (University of Malta), she has exhibited her art extensively across the main capital cities of Europe, in the UAE as well as in China, South East Asia, Washington and New York.
Anna’s paintings have been published by the highly acclaimed International Artist publishers, in books, book covers, calendars, telephone cards and other publications. Her works can be found in various private collections of art connoisseurs, in palaces, museums, banks and offices. Earlier this year, in October 2023, she was one of the participants at the prestigious Biennale of Florence, where she exhibited a large scale watercolour triptych.
Galea’s watercolor work has been acknowledged as masterful in the United States, as well as in Europe and China where she was invited to conduct featured masterclass watercolor demonstrations at the International Watercolor Conventions in Fabriano(2016), in Dubai (2018), in Izmir (2022), in Rybnik (2023) and Qingdao (2023).
“Often shown with dramatic lighting that allows the artist to make the most of the semitransparent plant structures, Galea’s subjects pulse with life, celebrating the harmony of light and colour” – Agora Gallery, New York, 2017.
