About me

Born in 1975 in Moûtiers, Patrice Jorioz is a self-taught artist with over 30 years of dedication to watercolor. He stands out for his meticulous exploration of values and contrasts, which are central elements of his compositions, as well as for his ability to tackle a wide range of subjects: from everyday life scenes to portraits, animals to urban environments, seascapes to mountain landscapes... Using wet-on-wet watercolor combined with precise details, he brings light, energy, and emotion to each of his works.

Patrice embraces diversity as the driving force behind his artistic practice. Always seeking technical mastery and new challenges, he refuses to be confined to an artistic routine. Each piece bears his unique signature, and his style is instantly recognizable.

He enjoys playing with contrasts—light/shadow, transparency/opacity, warm/cool colors—to create visually striking compositions. Passionate about teaching and a skilled educator, he successfully shares his expertise through courses and workshops.

Despite his relatively few appearances on the art scene, his talent has been repeatedly recognized in competitions and festivals, most recently with the “1st prize in the Winsor & Newton 2024 competition for France and Belgium.” Watercolor enthusiasts will appreciate his mastery and the emotions conveyed in his works, positioning him as an artist to watch, both for art lovers and professionals.
