Hjördís Alexandersdóttir.
Hjördís finds her subjects most often in her surroundings and adapts the technique she works with each time. She has workt with a variety of media other than watercolor in her artistic creation, such as oil painting, acrylic painting, silversmithing and pottery, but in recent years she has worked almost exclusively in watercolor. The clarity and variety offered by watercolor has fascinated her.
Hjördís has studied at Kópavog's art school and has been able to take lessons from both Icelandic and foreign artists. Hjördís has worked in art teaching both at school and at public and private companies. She has held 10 solo exhibitions and participated in a number of group exhibitions both in Iceland and abroad.
