My work grapples with a constant struggle between illusionism (which is not always mere mimesis) and the inner essence of shapes and forms. The painter of the 21st century carries within himself, consciously or unconsciously, all the visual experiences of past centuries. His work should not be confined to only one tradition, even if he chooses the "best." My exploratory painting is a quest for an image where the emotional and the rational coexist as an inseparable whole. I try to reconciles the rational with the intuitive, the exact with the emotional, the artistic with the theoretical, and the part with the whole. For the world of the image to acquire a deeper meaning, every element in it, no matter how similar to everyday things, must become a symbol. The world of the picture is no longer surrealism but panrealism, a complete reality more real than reality. Such images reveal the totality of human character and destiny, providing man with an ideal abode where he heads towards the essence of his existence. The image becomes a precious object for both the creator and the observer.
