Lizzie Jayne - Watercolour Artist, Author & Illustrator, England. A self~taught watercolour Artist since 2022.
After receiving a box of watercolours as a gift I was hooked with art and this challenging medium. I haven't put the brush down since. Ive since gone on to win numerous art awards; including Top 200 Watercolour Master for IWM, 2024. I've exhibited online worldwide, London, Nottingham and currently The National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield. Several of my tree landscape pieces were chosen to adorn cottates in the grounds of The National Trust as part of a refurbish programme, 2023. My art has featured on the front, back and in several art magazines, and I've have been truly blessed with discovering this incredible creative path.
I paint many genres and try my hand at all types of art, but it's the free flow of the water, brush and paint that captivates me; allowing my imagination to run free as the colours blend on the paper.
My art is inspired by real life events, nostalgic childhood memories, my Christian faith, the beauty of nature that surrounds, wildlife and animals (and cats! Lots of cats) or just pure imagination. Many of my pieces are accompanied with short stories, poetry or quotes written by Lizzie Jayne.
My aim moving forward is to progress, improve and develop my watercolour skills; the exciting journey of discovering new techniques, and complete further children's books with my own illustrations.
