John Wong (John -The Vast Ink Maniac) was born in Hong Kong.
At the age of fifteen, he studied western painting with the famous teacher Wu Hongguang.
At the age of seventeen, he studied art photography with Chung Wing-han and Tam Kam-pei FRPS. In 1968, he won the Hong Kong Tsuen Wan District Photography Championship and the Hong Kong Inter-school Photography Championship.
From 1969 to 1975, John worked as a technician in bars and photography darkrooms during warships sailing.
Since 1985, he has followed He Caian, Xiong Hai, Huang Lingyu, Xu Zixiong, Huang Xiaokui, Chen Chengqiu, Feng Yongji and other famous teachers to learn innovative techniques of ink painting.
He invented “Breaking Force of Light” techniques combining with traditional techniques to create his own style.
He has been selected for more than 50 art awards in the world, including:

He has successively held dozens of group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in China, the United Kingdom, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Macau, and Hong Kong.
His works are widely recognised and collected by private collectors and art galleries.
