When I saw Renoir's painting of a girl at the Yokohama Museum of Art 33 years ago, the emotion I had felt when I saw it in an elementary school textbook came back to me, and I suddenly felt the urge to paint, so I bought some oil painting tools and started painting on my own. It lasted about 10 years, but I got busy with work and stopped drawing. After quitting my job, I was encouraged to publish an essay in 2015, so I started painting with watercolors, which I have continued to do to this day.
