Apart from being a lecturer, Wee Xian is also a committed self-taught watercolour artist. He is constantly fascinated by the distinctive properties of watercolor. He strives to infuse life into his works by manipulating light and shadow, water and pigments, aiming to evoke a surprising twist or two in his pieces.
His works focus mainly on people - capturing flickering movement and nuances, and encapsulating eternity through his brush strokes. To him, art has the magical power to rekindle sparkle amidst the most ordinary events in our daily livelihood. He hopes that the audiences are able to take a moment from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives and discover the beauty of humanity around them.
