My name is Tak and I live in Tokyo/Japan. I love nature since I was a young student, and I often went cycling over mountain passes with my friends. The magnificent scenery and tea enjoyed at the mountain pass are the best.
After graduating from university, I entered the pharmaceutical world and spent my days working on developing new medicines. My research activities, from new drug discovery/clinical trials to the application for regulatory authorities, continued for about half a century with colleagues, both in Japan and in the United States/Germany where I lived. I spent a busy day to day work based on the scientific aspects, and I immersed myself in the scientific aspects at my work, which I thoroughly enjoyed
Now that I'm retired, I've returned to Japan and am free in mind and body. I've noticed that the scenery I've seen in Japan looks different from what I had seen overseas over the years. The nature of Japan, where I was born and raised, are fresher and richer. When I occasionally go out to the mountains with my old friends, the light overflowing in nature is so beautiful (unlike when I was younger).
In Japan, there are four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter, which is characteristic each. The momentary brilliance of light in each season is very attractive, and I started watercolor painting because I wanted to feel that deeply in my heart. I started as a virtual beginner, and several years have passed since then, as I have been improving my painting ways every day. The excitement and joy I feel when I successfully capture that beauty of light on the canvas (watercolor paper) is something that cannot be replaced by anything else. And for me, that excitement is the biggest motivation of continuing watercolor painting.
My achievements of recent years are presented in my web gallery, of which web address is attached in "My Site" of this platform.
