About me
My name is Marinescu Irena, I'm from Brăila. I paint since childhood,
I studied drawing in the last years of high school (Gheorghe Murgoci), at the Popular Art School "Vespasian Lungu" in Brăila in the class of teacher "Catrava". Also then I had my first personal exhibition at the Popular Cinema - Brăila in 1958.
Since then I have participated in 60 exhibitions, 16 of which are personal, with watercolor works, graphics in pencil and pen, oils, thread painting, various themes, portraits, landscapes, flowers.
I was registered in 1987, in the Association of Amateur Visual Artists of the City of Bucharest, President the painter and collector V Parizesu (may God forgive him).
The last personal exhibition was in 2008, together with my husband Gheorghe with wood sculpture works.
I took a break until 2018 when I started working again, watercolor and graphics. The great joy of my old age is the meeting with Arch Ovidiu Iovanel, a high-class professional, a lover of watercolor and the people whom, with patience, gentleness and love, he directs on the high steps of such beautiful watercolor painting.
