My true journey into art started when I went to art school. However, at art school I studied graphic design, not fine art.
While studying graphic design I had the opportunity to learn a certain amount of drawing and painting skills which I love to this day and practise frequently.
These skills were put on hold while I concentrated on a very successful career in the world of adverting and design which lasted for decades.
However, even though my career was a great international success I still longed to do fine art.
A number of years ago I started doing sketching – mainly line and wash. This led me to love urban landscape as a subject and watercolour as a medium, although I don’t limit myself to watercolour only. In fact, I really like the interplay of transparent and opaque paint.
While at art school I also developed a love of photography as well as graphics. This love of photography is very evident in much of my fine art as well as graphics. I now combine these two loves into a unique style of art that combines both graphics as well as fine art.
