Giovanni DI Blasi

I was born in Siracusa, Italy, in 1983, and moved to Bologna in 2015. Siracusa left me with a deep love for painting boats and the sea, while Bologna captivated me with its landscapes and warm autumn colors, subjects that naturally became my favorites to paint.

I began painting with watercolors as a self-taught artist, until I eventually decided to deepen my practice through both online and in-person courses with several accomplished watercolor masters.

From 2023 to 2025, I joined the board of AcquaBologna, the Bologna chapter of the AquaFirenze association, through which I also taught introductory watercolor courses.

Recent awards:

• 2025 – Selected for  “Rising Star, International Watercolor Master 2026” with the painting “Lagoon”
• 2025 – Selected for “Fabriano in Acquarello 2025” with the painting “Momenti di consapevolezza”
• 2025 – Finalist for the “Accademia Internazionale dell’Acquerello 2025” with the painting “Capanno da pesca in inverno”
• 2024 – Publication of “Prima del temporale” in Fifteen No.10, Psicografici Editore
• 2024 – Selected for “Fabriano in Acquarello 2024” with the painting “Docking in Cesenatico”
