Sarojini Datta is a self-taught artist residing in India. She loves to work with any media whether it is Watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, pen and ink,as she loves the different experiences each of them brings.
Though she graduated in Psychology Hons,her prime interest has been painting.
She has travelled to more than 28countries creating a treasure trove of memories and pictures that she loves to translate into paintings.
She also loves to see beauty even in the “ugliness” of life.
She had her 1st solo exhibition at the age of 16 at Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. Over the years she has painted many commissioned works for friends and family. After a long gap of fulfilling her duties to home and family, she is now pursuing her passion full time.
In the last 10 years she has participated in various group shows in Bhutan, Chicago and Delhi, both offline and online. And attended art camps and symposiums in Greece and India.
After a long hiatus,In 2020,she had her solo exhibition in New Delhi where she got a great response and sold many of her paintings.
For her, Art is meditation. Art is positivity. “Painting is my space where I forget time and am removed from the problems of life, returning to reality feeling elated and lighthearted"
