Artist’s Statement
“A brush in the hand

My watercolours represent experiences I have gained from travel both locally, nationally. And internationally. With each painting I aim to describe the essence of experiences evoked within me They are recreated elements that have some meaning for me and hopefully viewers.
Watercolour provides me with the opportunity to be as spontaneous as possible due to the very nature of the medium. It gives me freedom to explore, experiment and describe my experiences fully. I especially enjoy using a full colour palette with either soft or vibrant hues that have attracted me initially. Sometimes I use a traditional approach, or sometimes impressionistic. The spontaneity of the medium itself will often dictate how I paint.
