About me
My name is Alfonso Jimenez Martinez. I was born in Roses (Girona).
My passion for watercolor has always been there and that is why I attended painting workshops at the Escola de Belles Arts de Girona, where I had the best teachers ever. Also, I had the opportunity to meet other great contemporary artists and learn about different artistic currents.
Throughout the years I have had to combine my work with my passion for watercolor and it has not been easy. It's only been about ten years since I was able to dedicate myself fully to watercolor, giving watercolor workshops and teaching people interested in the subject. I am much more involved in this art, and I participate and contribute as much as I can.
I am a member of the "Agrupació Aquarel.listes de Girona i Comarques", which organizes several annual exhibitions in which I participate.
In 2020 I won the "Pinzel de Oro" award at the MdA Martinez Lozano, from LLançà (Girona)
In their "Fons d'Art" they have watercolors that I painted for them, in different institutions in Girona, such as "Excma.Diputació de Girona", MdA Martinez Lozano (LLançà)..., as well as private work in Italy.
For me, watercolor is a state of mind, it is being able to create atmospheres, transparencies, lights...
