Salvo Nero (alias Salvatore Lareddola)

Salvo Nero (alias Salvo Lareddola) - Self-taught painter from Palermo, born in 1984. Inspired by the painters of his hometown as well as cartoons. His creative vein awoke in the artist's early years through drawing, which he never abandoned.
He turned to creative studies for advertising graphics in high school. Simultaneously, the artist started to experiment his art on his hometown walls, finding in graffiti a freer way of expression.
Through comics and the discovery of Geof Darrow, he fell in love with detailed artworks. Such a high attention to details has now become an essential feature of his work. Subsequently, he slowly left cartoons and turned his artistic interest in artworks of watercolour, oil and finally acrylic, which became his main medium. Through Jenny Saville, he fell in love with the work of Lucian Freud.
He then became interested in the painting of reality and devoted himself to large formats, a formula that secured him recognition and monographic exhibitions. He currently spends his time between Palermo and Cardiff, two cities where he currently lives and works.
