Maria Koshel

My name is Maria Koshel, I was born in Minsk, Belarus and moved to Munich, Germany in 2000, I have German nationality.

My path to creativity was not straightforward: Although I have been drawing all my life, it was not considered a serious profession in my family, so I first studied linguistics in Minsk and then commerce in Munich. After 15 years in the luxury industry, I decide to give up my corporate career and focus solely on art.

Since May 2019 I have been studying watercolor painting via video courses, taking part in plein airs and master classes of internationally renowned masters and exchanging experience with other artists. I love to draw people, so I take academic painting classes in Munich.

In my watercolors I want to convey the magic and the poetry of the moment and everyday things.

 
The therapeutic aspect is also important to me in art, which is why I got my psychotherapy license last year (2022).
