About me
I was born in Bournemouth in the UK and have been painting/drawing since I old enough to hold a crayon. However I did not attend college until I was a mature student. Having talked my way onto to what I thought was an Illustration course it was shock to find it was actually a fine arts course!
By then the illustration course was full so I transferred to a Scientific Illustration course instead. On completion of this O.N.D course I found there was not a higher level course to continue onto so decided to switch to an H.N.D. in Graphic Design. I became a 'hybrid' illustrator/designer and was hired by a studio where I was enabled to do both.
This work lasted until I decided to travel with my husband and his work. We travelled to and lived in several countries and continued painting and drawing for my own enjoyment. Eventually we returned to the UK and I trained in Education attaining my B.Ed in Design and Technology.
Our travels enabled us to settle in Australia and with retirement I have rediscovered the joy of watercolours. I became accepted by the Watercolour Society of WA in 2020 Western Australia) after attending several courses to brush up my skills.
I still enjoy travelling and often return to UK to see my 4 grandchildren as well as exploring the outstanding colours of WA. I always take my paints with me.
