About me

Anita is an award winning artist who paints in a semi-impressionist representational size primarily in watercolour. Anita's works are held in many private collections having exhibited her work in many successful solo and joint exhibitions in Australia and overseas. For many years, as part of the David Sumner Gallery stable of artists, Anita successfully showed and sold her work alongside some of the best traditional artists of Australia. 

Anita has been a Juror for the  International Watercolour Society and is a nominated master watercolourist by this Society. In 2014 Anita was invited by the International Watercolour Society to be a Demonstrator &  Panelist at the IWS Festival in Cappodocia, Turkey. She has demonstrated her techniques and taught watercolour painting in Italy, Turkey and England and has also been the 'artist in residence' tutoring  in watercolour aboard  Cunard's cruise liners, the  Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Victoria and Azamara's liner, the Quest.

Anita has been a Finalist in the Heysen Prize for Australian Landscape three times and she has twice been a Finalist in the Adelaide Parklands Art Prize. Her works have been Finalists in the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (Melbourne) exhibitions and have been included in their Australian Art Excellence Awards Exhibitions. She has won a number prizes during her art career including a First prize at the Royal Adelaide Show Art Purchase Exhibition, the Eckersley’s Special Award and a Fourth Prize at the Flagstaff Hill Rotary Art Show, Second Prize in the SALA Hutt Art Prize, and another First Prize in the Australian Guild of Realist Artists Summer Exhibition.
