PATRICIA MIRABILE BIO (Dec 2024)

Patricia (Trish) grew up in Sandringham, Victoria, Australia in a family that encouraged her love of painting and drawing. Throughout her school years she loved her Art classes but also enjoyed Science. She completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours at The University of Melbourne, majoring in Botany. She held a number of Research positions in Plant Science and, while working, completed her Master of Science degree. Throughout these years she continued drawing and painting.

In 2006 she joined the Glen Eira Cheltenham Art Group (GECAG) where she took watercolour classes with Margaret Gurney and Maxine Wade. She has attended many workshops, most recently with Herman Pekel, Greg Allen, Marc Folly, Alvaro Castagnet, Thomas Schaller and Fabio Cembranelli. She has been on painting trips to Italy with Ev Hales, South Australia with Amanda Hyatt and Tasmania with Clive Sinclair . In addition to her membership with GECAG, Glen Eira Artists’ Society, Hughesdale Art Group and Watercolour Society of Victoria, she paints weekly with the Bayside En Plein Air Group (Beaumaris Art Group)

Her work has been exhibited and sold in several Rotary Art Shows (including Camberwell), local community and Art Group shows and the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. She has won several awards.

Recently in October 2023 she was invited to have a Solo Exhibition at the beautiful Kinross Art Centre,Toorak where she sold 20 out of 35 paintings. She did a live demonstration of her en plein air painting style and was interviewed about her art by the 3MBS Radio station on their Arts Weekly program.

She has done several commission works.

She loves experimenting with new watercolour techniques and subjects which is reflected in the variety of her work. She especially enjoys painting flowers and on-site painting (en plein air).
