Hello, I'm an artist..

such a simple phrase means so much to me. It took almost 40 years to understand what I’d really like to do, something that helps my soul to feel good with myself, to create something for the world, to show others how I see it.

My name is Elena I was born and raised in Kazakhstan, a huge and in the same way beautiful country, with its steppes, lakes, sea and mountains. At age of 25 my life has changed, I met my future husband, I packed my suitcase and left to Italy, a smaller country than mine, but with much more older history where it is almost a crime to be born without a talent for seeing the beauty around us.. where the most famous in the history painters, sculptors, architects were born, including my favorites: Filippo Brunelleschi, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Caravaggio. Italy is a country that gave me a second chance to understand who I really am, to develop my ability to see all that surrounds us with eyes of an artist..

It all started in the spring of 2019, I met a wonderful person, Valentina who became my friend, an Ukrainian painter who saw something inside me and who pulled it out, from that moment on, I can no longer stop drawing with all possible means: oil on canvas, watercolor, pastels, pencils, charcoal etc.. abstracts, landscapes, portraits (at least I try), animals etc.

Obviously there is still a long way to go, when I'm not drawing I study art history, I take many painting courses and one day I dream of adding the level of a professional painter who will make a painting that people will be enchanted with when they look at it..

For now it's just a dream but in my mind there's always a proverb: “it's hard not to succeed, but not having tried is worse..
