Philippa Mitchell

Inspired by the natural world and observations and impressions of specific places, I aim to convey in my paintings my sense of awe in the landscape, often including birds. My work attempts to record a moment in time experienced by me, in a particular place. I have been lucky to live and work in several wild and beautiful places around the UK including the Highlands of Scotland, The Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, Mid Wales and the Norfolk fens. My husband is a bird ecologist so we have migrated between bird hotspots. I am now based in the East Neuk of Fife, near St Andrews.
