Shuvankar Bera

I was born on 22nd July,1987 in South 24 PGS, West Bengal, India. After completion of post graduation in Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, I am currently employed in a global bank in Bangalore, India.

I started watercolor painting at a very early age and discovered my passion for watercolor. Watercolor is meditation for me and everything comes second when I paint with this medium. I just simply love the medium for its ability to produce some really unexpected results.

Watercolor is, in my opinion, is the most dynamic, fragile and mysterious medium among all other mediums for painting. Watercolor is a simple medium and it is meant to be paint simply. I try to take advantage of what’s happening on the paper and not to be over-obsessed with my reference image (if I am painting from a reference photograph). I always try to finish my painting at 70-80% near the full completion and let the imagination of the audience play a role and finish the rest 30-20% of the painting.
