About me
Amanda Bennett is a self-taught artist inspired by nature and people. Born and raised on the island of Newfoundland off the rugged east coast of Canada, the breathtaking scenery she grew up with left an indelible impression on her, as well as the unique sense of humour and ingenuity of Newfoundland's people. Now living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, her artwork serves as a therapeutic outlet for the nostalgia she feels for her childhood home.
Amanda likes to imbue her paintings with a sense of the wild and untouched quality of life that she grew to appreciate as a child, as she believes the greatest beauty comes from seeing things in their natural state.
Though she continues to work full-time as a Senior Business Analyst at Carleton University, she looks forward to the day when she can retire and focus on her art full-time.
